Alice's Wonderland
Today in my Italian Folklore class we discussed folktales and stories, and what affect technology can have on them. We discussed how Disney takes fairytales and folklore from other cultures and alters the stories, often to make the plots milder and less gruesome. We watched a very early Walt Disney short from 1923, a combination of animation and live action, that is actually a bonus feature on the Alice in Wonderland DVD. Take a look - it's very entertaining, and the technology is impressive for 1923.
